Civil Service Guest Lecture – Foreign and Commonwealth Office

At this event, we will have Amy Sherwood from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office speaking about her career in the civil service to include life in the FCO (home and away), what does a diplomat really do, joining the FCO and working in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Amy is Regional Project Leader for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. This role takes her all over the region, where she assists during crises, elections, covers business-critical work (including acting as Ambassador), and runs various projects both in London and overseas. Amy’s previous roles in the Foreign Office include, Deputy Ambassador in Chisinau, Moldova and work on Counter Terrorism.

There will also be representatives from the Fast Stream attending this event.

This event is suitable for students of all stages and disciplines who are interested in a career with the civil service.
