Looking for part-time work on-campus?

Careers Service

The Careers Service runs an on-campus jobs agency (JobsOC), offering current students casual and temporary work assignments across the University.

JobsOC are looking for students who are interested in working over the summer vacation period or throughout the 2015/16 academic year, (or both!).

Applications are open from the 9th March-26th April; shortlisting will take place on an ongoing basis throughout this time, so don’t leave your application until the deadline date if you are interested in joining the JobsOC pool!

Assignments are offered in a variety of areas ranging from administration, IT, event support to hospitality, catering and cleaning. Most assignments take place on weekdays, however, a limited number of assignments may be available on evenings and weekends.

JobsOC is a great way to develop your CV and gain skills and experience in a wide number of areas. Work is offered on a casual basis so you have the opportunity to select assignments that fit with your interests and availability.

As JobsOC student Hannah explains, ‘JobsOC has increased my experience in different situations so allowed me to add skills to my CV and given me examples to use in job interviews. It has also allowed me to be able to earn money whilst at university, as I can work around my studies and be flexible between weeks.’

JobsOC students work varied hours, from just a few hours, to up to 20 hours per week in term time, and up to 37 hours per week during vacations. Payment starts from £7.28 per hour (including holiday pay).

Applications will be accepted from 9th March until the 26th April.
