Newcastle Work Experience (NWE) is a summer work experience programme providing current and graduating Newcastle University students the opportunity to undertake challenging, project-based placements within Newcastle University and North East businesses. This placement is for 10 weeks full time between June and September and will be based within the Accommodation and Hospitality department.

EAT@NEWCASTLE is Newcastle University’s catering division; it comprises of 12 units and a delivered catering business. The project will involve the development of a consistent approach to marketing and social media across all units.

You will make an input into the design and development of a suite of social media collateral including:
The development of social media channels;
Development of a promotional plan and activity for EAT@NEWCASTLE for the 2015/2016 student intake and beyond;
Social Media usage guidelines for EAT@NEWCASTLE staff.

Key tasks involve aiming to increase awareness of EAT@NEWCASTLE via social media and ensuring that the brand is implemented across all areas whilst doing so. The successful student will also be required to access and provide recommendations on the EAT@NEWCASTLE brand as a whole and update the current Brand Guidelines.

Person Requirements: We are looking for a commercially minded, well organised, self starter to work alongside one of EAT@NEWCASTLE’s Food and Beverage Managers. Ideally you will have previous marketing experience or will be studying towards a marketing based degree. An interest in food/catering is also essential.
